BOB IS BACK
Well, here it is. I may yet revise a panel or two. But I can't resist sharing this at this ready-to-read stage. It's been twenty plus years folks, be kind. This was written in the early 90s. And drawn in the evenings after work.

Watch Me Draw Again
More vanity blogging - tried to record about 15 minutes of drawing but I guess there's a limit to the length of screen cap this lil mac can handle. I make plenty of mis strokes here but you'll also see me make good use of the "surprises" a tablet can give a leaden hand like mine!
Then a little peek at the black and toning process, all done in layers so it's infinitely editable, and never actually done.
Just for fun, you know.

Happy Easter, here's a rabbit having a nervous breakdown.
My Easter Gift to my few followers - the complete Floppity Goes Berserk strip from MU comics, little seen, personal favorite.

page 3 pencils
Despite my fierce desire to get these characters mobile, Lionheart is still in the kitchen talking to his coffee maker. I am working my way towards something visually funny as well, right now it's shaping up to be 4 pages of Lionheart reacting to a sketchy appliance.

Exposition exposed
Here's page 2 of chapter two with the text all blurred. Astute viewers will still get the drift. I don't want to spoil the whole story before publication, so trying to hold back. This page is a big info dump, which came to be two ways: I wanted to change direction a bit, and I hate when mysteries that are posed at the end of an "episode" are not dealt with in the following episode. So I am happy to dump what was meant to be a whole chapter into one page.
Hopefully I can have Lionheart out of the kitchen in a few panels and get these characters a little action. Things are still Barton Finky in that department.
So, I had a plan - and changed it midstream. Not a news flash here.

Maybe this?
Well, what the hell.. the simple graphic shapes may be the answer. Adds enough interest without slowing the eye down. That's what I 'm thinking, anyway...

struggling
UGH, backgrounds. Still messing with the next few pages, unsure how to approach. In pen and ink days I could noodle away with cross hatching and shape the background, not so much digitally. The forced simplification of line works wonders on my character drawings but wreaks havoc on creating some sort of backdrop.
Lost the squiggly lines, revised Scooter's tone to resemble real Scooter a bit more..
I think I prefer the flat tones over the gradation and squigglies seen in earlier post. But then it also looks boring and flat. sigh. Need perspective. And a sodie pop.

RARE Crazy Bob for the fans
Appreciated the loving heaped on Crazy bob tonight at Facebook. Crazy Bob is a property I have struggled with for decades. It does not come easy, it is difficult to find more situations worth explotiing. And I also have tremendous difficulty drawing him, humans in general. Aliens and funny animals are much more fun to draw and they MOVE! CB stands around sweating while appliances taunt him.
Here's some not-finished, early takes and half baked ideas - including a page inked by Sam (The Maxx) Kieth.

3D fun, continued
Whooof, no blog post in too many days. Well the Holidays are behind me and I have no excuse, time to get back to work on Lionheart.
But in the meantime, training in 3D. Had to put a fake soda print on this can, to avoid legal issues, but this is more about lighting and water and creating water drops with hair tools. Pay no attention to the label, but enjoy the wet action!
